The Endocrinologist will explore root causes, carry out blood tests if needed, educate you on reasons for such a case, and suggest a treatment plan. Diabetes education is key in carrying out lifestyle changes where necessary. The Endocrinologist will also if necessary arrange for personalized insulin pump management, and continuous glucose meter (CGM) initiation and management. It is important to note aside from medication and maintenance, management of diabetes complications, eating a healthy diet, staying at a healthy weight, and getting regular physical activity also are important parts of managing diabetes. If necessary the endocrinologist will refer you to a Nutritionist for an appropriate meal plan.
