Vitamin D Deficiency
Vitamin D deficiency is the commonest vitamin deficiency. Around a billion people worldwide have a vitamin D deficiency and in Qatar the prevalence is even higher. According to a study in 2012, 90% of the population suffers with vitamin D deficiency.
Vitamin D plays a vital role in bone health and its deficiency is linked to weak bones that break easily. It’s also linked to autoimmune diseases like Diabetes, Multiple sclerosis, low immunity, anxiety and depression and even heart disease.
Some symptoms of Vitamin D deficiency are tiredness, bone and muscle aches especially back pain, hair loss, poor sleep, anxiety, depression and even weight gain.
